Painswick Easter Egg Hunt is an annual community event run by the Painswick Playgroup Committee to raise vital funds for Painswick Playgroup. This year it will take place around St Mary’s Church Yard and the village centre on Easter Saturday, 15th April, 12-4pm.
We will have 34 beautifully designed eggs hiding all around the village, for you and your little ones to find and every completed trail will be rewarded with a chocolate prize. Our theme this year is Children’s Films Favourites, and local companies, the playgroup, and some highly artistic mums are in the process of creating some amazing eggs! In addition to our fun trail, here’s what we’ve got planned for this year:
- Bouncy castles
- Face painting
- Food stalls selling hot pork rolls, burgers and hot dogs
- Raffle, featuring fantastic prizes
- Homemade cake stall
- Bottle tombola
- Chocolate tombola
- A bungee run (feet stay firmly on the ground!)
- Teddy Bear Parachuting from the church spire – don’t forget to bring your favourite cuddly toy!
- Live music from local band, Too Old for Toys, who will be playing throughout the event
There’s even a set of clues for grown ups so this will be a great day out for all the family!
Throughout the day there will be special appearances by the Easter Bunny, with plenty of opportunities to have your photo taken with him.
We have also arranged a special deal with Rococo Gardens, just down the road in Painswick, who will give a free child entry with every completed map!
Maps for the event will be on sale from The Falcon Pub, the Falcon’s Nest, Painswick Library or Painswick Playgroup, and will be £3 in advance or £4 on the day per child (under 2s are free).
Plenty of free parking will be available at the Painswick Recreation Ground in addition to the usual parking around the village and at Stamages Lane Car Park. We are also well prepared in case of bad weather – there will be plenty of places to shelter and enjoy the attractions indoors if it looks like wind or rain!
Painswick Easter Egg Hunt has become a firmly established event in the local calendar which attracts visitors from all over Gloucestershire. It’s a great day out and it always has a fantastic atmosphere. All money raised goes directly back to Painswick Playgroup to improve facilities for our children. We are a non-profit making charitable organisation run by the Community and have recently retained our Ofsted Outstanding status.
